UFS 211 - TASK 5

Write a paragraph about a topic on 'Water Pollution' and come out with the appropriate Topic Sentences, Supporting Sentences and Concluding Sentences with the linker used in the paragraph.

Water pollution is any chemical, physical or biological change in the quality of water that has a harmful effect on any living thing that drinks or uses or lives in it. When humans drink polluted water it often has serious effects on their health. Water pollution can also make water unsuited for the desired use. The effects of water pollution are varied. They include poisonous drinking water, poisonous food animals, unbalanced river and lake ecosystems that can no longer support full biological diversity, deforestation from acid rain and many other effects. These effects are of course specific to the various contaminants. Science provides many practical solutions to minimizing the present level at which pollutants are introduced into the environment. In our everyday lives, a great deal can be done to minimize pollution if we take care to recycle materials whose production creates pollution and if we act responsibly with household chemicals and their disposal. Additionally, there are choices we make each day that also can affect the quantity of pollutants our actions will introduce into the environment. Heavily packaged foods, for instance, contain boxes, cartons, bottles made with polluting dyes, many of which are released from groundwater at municipal land fills. Whether we choose to drive to the corner store rather than walk or ride a bicycle will determine how much we personally contribute to acid and hydrocarbon emissions to the atmosphere. In the end, there are many choices on the personal and societal level that we must make that affect the amount of pollution our town or country will be forced to live with. Without taking a step backward in terms of our standards of living, the answer seems to lie in a combination of many small changes in our daily practices and paying more for goods and services.

UFS211 - TASK 1

What is LOVE to you?

LOVE??? Most people who claim to love someone don't really love them, because they don't know what is love actually is. What is LOVE to me? For me, To love someone unconditionally means that you love the person exactly as they are, exactly as they were before, and exactly as they will be in the future. Because people change all the time, so if you love the person you will love them even if they become something you disagree with. How many parents can say that about their kids? How many people can say that about their “lover”? Love is not about you or your pleasure or your amusement. It’s not about what you get out of it or what the other person can give to you. The true love is unconditional. Unconditional love means that the person can just live their life exactly as they choose and you will always be there for them no matter what. Unconditional love is more of a spiritual thing. It’s not bound by physical things, like blood relations and the desire to procreate. Most people are in relationships because they are horny or lonely. Even if they genuinely think they love the other person. But if the person they “love” suddenly lost their equipment for whatever reason, would they still want to be with that person? Would they get jealous if the person they “love” wanted to spend time with other people as well? Relationships based on needs are not unconditional. In order to truly understand love, you must ask yourself because you are the only person who can tell you what LOVE is.

In 1st reflection, I just want to express my feelings when I first learned the subject English Purpose. I am very excited but when Madam Atee told us that do not take chances on this subject, I feel very nervous because of the fear of failure in this subject. In the first chapter, I learned about the thousands of meaning in a word. For me, a thousand words also reflect a deep meaning and a person will be processed on a different meaning. Therefore, we do not quickly think bad about others without trying to understand what is being said. Madam Atee also told us to write the ending of 'A thousand words ' after watching this short movie. So in my opinion, she will receive the parcel and try to find that man. The end of story, they finally meet and fall in love with each other.
